Taittinger Folies de la Marquetterie

£78.00

Folies de la Marquetterie is a rich, complex Champagne with deep yellow color and fine, delicate bubbles. It offers an intense bouquet of peaches, apricot jam, toasted brioche, and vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied, fruity, and graceful, with golden peach flavors and a long finish featuring light toasty notes.

A blend of 45% Chardonnay and 55% Pinot Noir, it is made from grapes sourced from Taittinger’s vineyards, including those around Château de la Marquetterie. The wine undergoes a "green" harvest and slow ageing for 5 years in bottle, resulting in a harmonious, creamy style ideal for pairing with fish or chicken dishes. Folies de la Marquetterie represents the beginning of Taittinger’s history and embodies the house's dedication to quality.

Ideal with grilled and roasted white meats, fish and shellfish.

The Taittinger family has owned and managed the Champagne House for nearly a century, with a commitment to excellence led by Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger for 40 years. Pierre Emmanuel Taittinger has embodied this commitment for 40 years, and today he shares it with his son, Clovis and his daughter who both work beside him in the day to day running of the Champagne House. The estate was bought by the Taittingers – a family of wine merchants – in 1932. Taittinger is therefore one of the few remaining independently owned Champagne Houses.
