In 1927, German immigrant Hermann Heinz Theodor Schroeder settled in Patagonia and began working in the wine industry. In 2001, his son, Hermann Schroeder, launched the family’s wine project, which is now run by his sons. With hard work and significant investment, the family transformed the dry Patagonian steppe into a thriving vineyard oasis. The winery’s design blends with the landscape, utilizing gravity flow winemaking to enhance production. the estate benefits from dry weather, frequent winds, unpolluted snowmelt water, cool nights, and long summer days. These ideal growing conditions, combined with modern facilities, result in exceptional wines. During construction, fossilized bones of a large herbivorous dinosaur were discovered, leading palaeontologists to name the new species Panamericanaurus Schroederi in honour of the family’s contribution to the excavation.
