Quara Estate Malbec

Argentinian Malbec

£13.95

Red cherries, blackcurrants and herb aromas, soft tannins and subtle acidity support the well-rounded flavours of plums, mulberries and cherries.

Ideal with thyme and rosemary crusted roast lamb.

A typically salteño wine, it is the ultimate example of Cafayate’s altitude and dryness.

The vines receive minimum irrigation; just enough to ensure the grapes are concentrated and flavorful. The result is a young yet well-defined wine that is perfect for any occasion.

Located in the heart of the Calchaquí Valley, surrounded by vineyards like Cabra Corral, El Buen Retiro, and San Miguel, this region is one of the highest wine-growing areas in the world, with altitudes ranging from 5,200 to 6,500 feet above sea level. The area's dry, sunny climate and broad temperature variations contribute to the exceptional flavor and unique character of the wines. The Lavaque family, originally from Lebanon, settled in Cafayate in the late 19th century, where they established a winery. Over generations, they have become key players in the wine industry of northern Argentina, with Rodolfo Lavaque spearheading the revitalization of the region in the 1990s. Today, his descendants continue to produce wines that reflect the distinct personality of the Calchaquí Valleys, earning recognition both nationally and internationally.
