Made from Rioja Alta grapes, this wine is characterised by its consistent quality and clean and precise aroma.

On the nose, blends together the aromas of green almonds, marzipan and salt with those of white fruits like apple and pear. On the palate it's viscous, but also fresh, thanks to the slight acidity of the Manzanilla. The salinity is noticeable on the wine's passage and evident right up to the long and persistent finish, enhanced by withering chamomile petals and dried fruits and nuts.

The grapes used to produce Monopole Clasico are Viura and Palomino which are harvested from the Villalba de Rioja vineyard, over 5 hectares planted in calcareous soils 15 years ago with an east-facing aspect. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, and the wine is subsequently aged together with the fine lees in barrels and casks that have been used previously for different wines.
The wine is left to settle in the barrels and casks for around 8 months, during which periodic tastings are carried out.

What makes this white unique is that it contains a small amount of Manzanilla (the biological Sherry produced in the village of Sanlúcar de Barrameda). It's a bit shy and has subtle notes of Sherry, tasty and salty, with a long, dry finish. It slowly opens up, revealing notes of spices and aromatic herbs and a clean and balanced palate.
