Meinklang Prosa Rose Frizzante

Austrian Sparkling

£15.50

Originally created by the winemaker for their own wedding, this is a lightly sparkling rosé with crisp and flavourful red berry fruit, raspberry, redcurrant, and mulberry with zesty summer berry fruits on the finish. The grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed, and, after a short maceration, they begin spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts. The wine is then aged in the bottle following the ancient method and remains on the lees.

Ideal as aperitif, and with fish & chips with vinegar, prawn cocktail with Mary Rose, and oysters with red wine vinegar.

Notes: This wine is deliberately unfiltered so may appear cloudy.

Meinklang is an original, family-run mixed farm, set in the middle of the World Heritage Site of the National Park Neusiedlersee, on the Eastern side of the Neusiedlersee Lake, bordering directly on the Hungarian lowlands, where life’s diversity and complexity are celebrated. On their family estate, Meinklang, inspired by the biodynamic theories of Rudolf Steiner, created a totally self-sufficient agricultural and winemaking project that works in perfect harmony with nature. Their vineyards are surrounded by natural ponds and cover crops of wild grasses and herbs. But the real pride of the estate is a herd of Angus cattle that provides manure as fertiliser. This is why the bottle’s labels have a picture of a cow.
