Kaiken Ultra Malbec

Argentinian Malbec

£19.50

The nose reveals bold aromas of blackberries and violets, with delicate notes of white flowers, black fruits, and subtle hints of white pepper and clove. Oak ageing adds a touch of vanilla.
On the palate, it offers a soft, silky entry with well-integrated tannins, balanced acidity, and prominent flavours of blackberries, raspberries, wood, and spice. The long, persistent finish leaves a delightful sensation with lingering hints of liquorice.

Matured in French oak barrels, one-third new, one-third second use, and one-third third use, for 12 months. The wine was then aged in bottle for an additional 6 months before release.

Ideal with red meats and pasta dishes.

Ultra is Kaiken’s most genuine expression of Malbec, combining the best attributes from three terroirs in the Uco Valley. Altamira, located at high altitudes, offers a cool climate that contributes freshness, floral aromas, and elegant tannins, preserving the wine’s acidity and complexity. Los Chacayes, with its rocky, alluvial soils and Mediterranean climate, brings ripeness and rich, dark fruit flavours, adding depth and intensity to the wine. Finally, Gualtallary, known for its high altitude and mineral-rich soils, imparts structure and a refined, mineral character, enhancing the wine’s overall elegance. These terroirs work together to create a balanced wine with vibrant fruit, crisp acidity, and a long, sophisticated finish.
