Dominio de Puctum 20000 Leguas Orange Wine
£16.95
Pale orange in colour with aromas of tropical fruit, hazelnut, and apple. The palate is well structured with sweet tannins and good acidity which complement the complex fruit flavours of dried orange rind, crystallised ginger, jasmine, dried apricots, and a subtle nuttiness on the finish. This is the perfect introduction to orange/skin contact wines! Grapes are harvested at night to retain freshness, then fermented on the skins, and left to macerate for 10-15 days to extract colour, flavour, and tannins.
Ideal with baba ganoush, prawn pad thai or can stand up to some richer meat dishes.
Punctum Biodynamic Family Vineyards was founded in 2005 as a family venture by three siblings. Today, more than fifteen years later, it’s a winery dedicated to organic and biodynamic wine with a presence in more than 40 countries across four continents. Their vineyard and estate are located in the town of Las Pedroñeras (Cuenca), an area where wine culture has been around for decades. It is believed that winemaking originated here in Roman times, and it quickly developed during the medieval period. From the beginning, the main motivation has been to offer the highest quality products, made in a natural and environmentally friendly way. In fact, the estate has started a path towards a Carbon Neutrality Certification. The team is improving their energy efficiency and changing production materials and packaging. To offset their carbon footprint, they will be financing forestry projects. As an organic and vegan winery, Dominio Punctum has already implemented other sustainability measures: the energy for their facilities comes 100% from renewable sources, and they recycle 100% of the water waste and waterfall for irrigation.
