Domaine du Margalleau Vouvray Brut Methode Traditionelle
Chenin Blanc from Loire
£15.95
This Vouvray Brut is pale yellow in colour, with a fine and soft bubbles. On the nose, delicate aromas of lemon with a touch of grapefruit. On the palate, it is fine and reveals notes of stone fruit, citrus and green fruit typical of Chenin Blanc. The grapes are hand-harvested, then fermented and aged in stainless steel. The 6 months of lees refining before bottling give texture and richness to this bright Vouvray brut.
Ideal with grilled fish, shellfish, or enjoy it as an aperitif or dessert!
It all started in 1938 with Georges Pieaux, a farm worker who decided to become independent. In 1955, his two sons Gérard and Lucien took over and independently managed the plots. Only in 1995, when Gérard and Lucien retired, their two nephews decided to bring together all plots and this is the birth of Domaine de Margalleau, named after one of the first plots farmed by their grandfather. Over the years, the estate grew, reaching 32 hectares today. In 2019 the Domaine obtained the HVE (High Environmental Value) for their commitment to sustainable practices.
