Cantina della Vernaccia Corash Cannonau Riserva di Sardegna
£23.95
The "Corash" has a garnet red colour with purple highlights, all with a remarkable intensity. The nose reveals aromas of red and black berries with a lightly toasted finish. On the palate, it is full bodied with an elegant structure and a lingering finish. After vinification, the wine is aged in small oak casks for 12 months.
Ideal with Italian dishes (for example pasta and pizza) but also, particularly, with ossobuco, beef or lamb dishes, game, not to mention hard cheeses such as Sardinian Pecorino or Parmesan.
Corash is the name given by the Cantina della Vernaccia, to Cannonau Riserva, in memory of a small Roman village which has now disappeared. The Cannonau is the best known and most widespread grape on the island, making up almost 30% of the Sardinian wine production.
Founded in 1953, Cantina della Vernaccia di Oristano was born in a unique territory of rare beauty. Leader of the promotion and consecration of the Vernaccia di Oristano in all of Italy and beyond the national boundaries, Cantina della Vernaccia inherited more than fifty years of tradition in the production of high-quality wines, and in the last decades also developed through the enhancement of other local grape varieties which are peculiar to the territory such as Nieddera, and through the production of already well-known Sardinian varieties like Vermentino, Cannonau and Monica.
